Death Cab For Cutie are an amazing American alternative rock band from Bellingham, Washington. The band was founded in 1997 consisting of Ben Gibbard on vocals, guitar and piano, Chris Walla on guitar, production and keyboards, Nick Harmer with his cool bass and recent drummer Jason McGerr since 2003.
The musical style covers a range or creativity. There are unorthodox instruments with flutes, cellos, organs and glokenspiel. This creates melodic and melancholy tunes with a whisper like dash of love. The music can speak to anyone because it connects with emotions which we all feel at some point in our lives. The band has been compared to Modest Mouse, The Postal Service , The Joy Formidable, The Gaslight Anthem and Built to Spill.
The band has released seven studio albums, five EPs, and one demo including Something About Airplanes (1998), We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes (2000), The Photo Album (2001), Transatlancism (2003) which made them popular, Plans (2005), Narrow Stairs (2008) and Codes and Keys on May 31, 2011.
