It’s that time of year again when we all need to bundle up and recognize appealing fashion wear.
At the CFCA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards, several designer turtleneck samples were displayed.
It’s one of those articles of clothing for those who do not like to show a lot of skin. With lots of cable knot designs and print, numerous designers are showcasing the classic turtleneck apparel this season including, my personal favorite, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney, Joseph Altuzarra who has been a real inspiration in launching turtlenecks for his collection, Donna Karan, Olivier Theyskens, Issey Miyake and many more.
Celebs with street style are even wearing turtlenecks but with lots of variations such as Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alexa Chung, Elizabeth Olsen. Turtlenecks go way back though from the days of college athletes and military squads to Audrey Hepburn and our days of the Something’s Gotta Give where Diane Keaton has a turtleneck metldown.
The clothing carries a unisex appeal. Anyone can where a turtleneck whether from H&M or Marc Jacobs, they work in every sense as fashion designers are trying to rehabiliate the garment into contemporary fashion but adding a dash of sexiness for men and women.
