The popular German fashion designer has created an exclusive collection for the new year.
Karl Lagerfeld is launching a new and affordable womenswear label, named Karl. The slim pair of black trousers with a metallic biker jacker and chic leather vest are the first samples of what is to come from Karl.
Lagerfeld said to WWD, “It’s my today’s taste and style and a reflection of how I think a great number of people would like to be dressed now. I just want not too expensive clothes that people may like and perhaps want to wear. That was my concept for a long time, but my business partners in the past wanted to be like Chanel or Fendi without putting behind what is needed to be like that.”
The 100-piece range will feature daytime wear and evening wear available online through Net-A-Porter. There are also plans to open Karl Lagerfeld stores and temporary boutiques as the innovator has become a global fashion icon contributing lots of intriguing pieces for menswear and womenswear. The new collection can relate to any woman who possesses interests in fabulous street chic as the clothing will be affordable, students may even be able to purchase the new looks.
The collection will unveil at the Couture Fashion Week in Paris on 25 January 2012.
