What an experience in May. For me, music is what keeps me going, similar to most of you. Imagine three hours and a half hours of heavy riffs and amazing drum solos completely take over your mind and soul.
Eagles of Death Metal were truly amazing. The alternative rock band duo from California captivated the crowd with each song. And of course, Cherry Cola was one of them.
Then I still can’t believe I survived a heavy metal gig! Mastodon blew me away. Tracks including Blood And Thunder, Ember City and Show Yourself were my favourites. The collective headbanging and intense mosh pits were exciting enough for one to let loose and enjoy at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Clearly, I’m going to another concert soon.
LA-based indie rock band, Warpaint is sharing new music. How exciting!
The dream pop and psychedelic vibe continues to impress. Listen to lead vocal singer, Emily Kokal and float away into an ambient trance mode. The track, ‘Whiteout’ will take you to another place until the new album, ‘Heads Up’ is released on Friday 23 September 2016.
This weekend, the annual music and arts festival Coachella will kick off at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Dance to rock, independent and electronic tunes in the Colorado Desert. I’m hype because that line-up is fire. Time to escape! xxx
American indie pop musician, Garrett Borns known as BØRNS captured hearts with an amazing acoustic performance yesterday in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
If you were in the neighbourhood during the afternoon, it was a cool psychedelic atmosphere at Rough Trade NYC.
Fans queued to listen to the Michigan musician sing, get autographs and meet him. At one point, it felt like you were floating on a cloud and then swaying to the lyrics.
It was in November 2014 that BØRNS released his debut single 10,000 Emerald Pools with Interscope Records. From there by January 2015, his television appearances began which led to visiting Conan O’Brien and Seth Meyers on their late night shows.
Soon enough, my favourite tune Electric Love (shown above) was playing in most retail boutiques, car commercials and blasting from headphones in international destination cities including New York, London, Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Tokyo. Then last July 2015, he accompanied Charli XCX and Bleachers on their tour to gain exposure.
By August 2015, BØRNS released via social media his album Dopamine. The online presence accumulated a larger following with over 68,000 likes on Facebook, close to 46,000 followers on Twitter and nearly 55,000 Instagram fans.
Following that, he played at Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas September 2015 as well as Austin City Limits in October 2015. Even all through the December holidays and into the New Year, BØRNS was also playing in Topshop creating an enjoyable shopping experience.
Now BØRNS is set to perform this spring at Coachella 2016. Get ready to dance Cali style!
Among three friends, Carter enters a social scene for music. The music is EDM. It’s about the bass and movement for dance. Connecting to the crowd and making an impression is what matters most. Finding influential sounds from all around him, he’s able to create an original sample. It’s assembled in a creative way evoking emotion. That type of collective conscious that arises often at music festivals. We can all do it when opportunity is presented.
The film captures the essence of the millennial struggle. We are all doing different things in the real world. We each expect to be at a certain point by a particular age. So we hustle and we try. Everyone can find themselves in one of the characters. Are you the DJ, promoter, drug dealer or solid friend?
We all have a dream and often wonder are we doing enough? We can do more. There’s a true message, if you have/can find your skill, just go all in to be successful. Good vibes, I loved this film!
Debuting this weekend, Furious 7 brilliantly topped international box offices ringing in $384m according to imdb.com
Directed by Malaysian James Wan, the Fast & Furious franchise came to an end with this amazing adventure packed thriller film.
Creatively the writers were able to tie together each installment by bringing all of the crew together one last time. As an international terrorist’s brother, Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) seeks revenge against the alpha male, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), it’s clear that whenever family is involved there will be action taken.
This time, Brian returns with quick thinking skills, Roman (Tyrese Gibson) with his wit and charm and Tej (Ludacris) rocking the tech skills as he collaborates with hacking genius, Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel). What’s more, a Somalian terrorist, Jakande (Djimon Hounsou) joins in to steal a computer program, God’s Eye. Imagine technology being able to globally spot whoever you are and wherever you are within a few minutes. Welcome to the power struggle of the future. Moreover, the seven reasons to see Furious7 as soon as possible.
1. The auto references to V-8 engines, 500+ horsepower and torque.
My favorite five cars from the film include the following: Aston Martin DB9
2008 Audi R8
1967 Chevrolet Camaro
2010 Ferrai 458 Italia
and 2014 Maserati Ghibli.
2. Leading ladies featured in this film.
Seen left to right: Lettie (Michelle Rodriguez from Puerto Rico) and Mia, (Jordana Brewster from Panama) promote powerful female roles in an action film series mostly pursued by males. Also this is an opportunity to see and appreciate the escalation of Latinas in cinema.
3. Entertaining music and artists formed the soundtrack.
