Music ~ EODM & Mastodon

What an experience in May. For me, music is what keeps me going, similar to most of you. Imagine three hours and a half hours of heavy riffs and amazing drum solos completely take over your mind and soul.

Eagles of Death Metal were truly amazing. The alternative rock band duo from California captivated the crowd with each song. And of course, Cherry Cola was one of them.

Then I still can’t believe I survived a heavy metal gig! Mastodon blew me away. Tracks including Blood And Thunder, Ember City and Show Yourself were my favourites. The collective headbanging and intense mosh pits were exciting enough for one to let loose and enjoy at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Clearly, I’m going to another concert soon.

Founder of Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market, Rei Kawakubo (川久保 玲) is exploring brave new fashion. Avant-garde designs were created to challenge conventional thoughts for an upcoming exhibition.

The themed show displays around 140 pieces of Kawakubo’s womenswear collections from the 1980s to present day. The galleries demonstrate experimental ways to illustrate the space between boundaries. Rei Kawakubo continues to shape the face of global art and fashion with her work.

The Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons: Art of The In-Between exhibition debuts on 04 May 2017 until 04 September 2017 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The artist, Matthew Chavez who introduced the ‘Subway Therapy’ was onto something. The wall of feelings as an emotional outlet is growing more each day at the Union Square station.

What a brilliant way for people to express themselves with sticky notes in New York. We need more positive people like this in the world.
